So many people shy away from gym because they feel self-conscious. In reality, stepping through those doors and getting started with your training will in all likelihood boost self-confidence.

Forget those excuses!

The idea that you need to be fit and in shape in order to go to gym is counter-intuitive. That’s like saying you need to have a glorious golden tan in order to go to the beach. Or that you need to be able to draw well before going to art lessons.

  • When you feel better physically, you will feel better psychologically too.
  • Your increased energy levels mean that you will want to try new things, meet new people, etc.
  • You will be more likely to tackle challenges AND overcome them.
  • As your body becomes stronger and more toned, you’ll have a much healthier self-esteem.
  • When you are able to lift heavier weights and do exercises you weren’t able to do before, you’ll enjoy that wonderful sense of achievement.
  • Meeting small successive goals will boost self-confidence
  • Training at gym makes your brain release dopamine, endorphins, and other feel good hormones. These combat stress, anxiety, and depression, helping you to accomplish more.
  • You’ll not only feel calmer, but you’ll be able to concentrate more and accomplish goals in all aspects of your life.
  • Exercise will also boost self-confidence by improving your cognitive functioning; going to gym means you’ll perform better at work.
